Sam Leacock
Athletics Director
Sam is excited to lead the Athletics Department at Dubai American Academy.
Over the last 4 years at DAA, Sam has been a homeroom teacher, Head of Grade, and athletics coach to numerous Leopards teams, before taking up his role as Athletics Director.
After graduating from Leeds University with a degree in Economics and History and completing a 5-year career in consulting, he realized his real love was teaching. He went back to university in London to complete his Postgraduate Certificate in Education and the rest is history. He has loved teaching in elementary schools for the past 14 years and has experience teaching all age groups from KG1 - G5
Sam earned his National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership in Education (NPQSL) in 2016. He has earned a diploma in transformational coaching, has coached track & field and football here at DAA, and is a veteran of numerous MESAC tournaments.
In addition to his formal educational experience, Sam enjoyed a semi-professional career as a rugby player in the UK, has been a qualified personal trainer for twelve years, and is a self-described health and fitness fanatic who actively participates with recreational sports teams.
