Tanya Boudakian

Middle School Dean of Students

Tanya Boudakian joined GEMS Dubai American Academy in 2017 as a 4th Grade teacher. Over the years, she has taken on various roles, including Primary School Librarian, ELL teacher for Grades 1 & 2, and since 2018, has been teaching Middle School French. Tanya has also served as Head of the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department and Head of Grade 6 before stepping into her current role as Dean of Students.

Before moving to the UAE, Tanya taught AP French and Italian at the high school level in New Jersey, where she is originally from. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and Italian from Middlebury College, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her teaching license through the Alternate Route program (MAT). Tanya continues to further her expertise in education by pursuing a Master’s in Educational Leadership.

In her free time, Tanya enjoys tap dancing and entertaining others through food, fun, and creative videos. She is also a proud parent of two children attending DAA, one in High School and the other in Middle School.
